Dreadlocks do not give so much work.

Whether dreadlocks give a lot of work depends on several factors. Personally, I don’t have that much work left with my 9-year-old dreadlocks. Except that every 3 months I “chaff” once. I used to have more to do when I used to glue my hair together with gooey gel in front of the mirror every morning. Likewise, I believe that people with normal long hair, have more to do with their hair.

In the beginning, the dreads need more attention.

Especially at the beginning of the dreadlocks life, it is important to always “re-crochet” a little. Even though we crochet the baby dreads pretty compact, in the puberty period, the dreadlocks still need a little “Crochet” tenderness”. After that, you really only have to do the tips and the roots. People with curly hair tend to have less work than those with straight fine hair. It is also important that you check that your dreadlocks do not grow together at the roots. If this is the case, you should tear them apart with feeling. Not that still two dreadlocks grow together.

Is it more effort than with normal hair?

Daily hair washing ultimately gives more to do.

Dreadlocks life cycle

Dreadlocks need a lot of time. Marc has put together a video for you showing the phases they go through.

If you don’t want to or can’t invest that much time in dreadlocks, we are of course happy if you drop by every now and then for a “Crochet-Session”.
