Minimum length for dreadlocks
To make dreadlocks you need long hair. It’s obvious. Without hair we can not make a dread. Only how long do I have to wait now? To have dreadlocks, it needs a certain length of hair, at least 17 cm. Underneath, the felt dynamic is missing. If the hair is too short, it goes extremely on the finger joints and the dreadlocks may also go up again.
Shorter is really not possible?
There are many people who have too little patience. With only 5 or 10 cm of hair length, they already want their dreadlocks. We always say about this that it takes time and patience for dreadlocks. And that starts with letting your hair grow. Afro hair is usually an exception here. For most of them, even 10 cm is enough.
Your hair will be shorter with dreadlocks than before.
Your overall length will be much shorter after the dreadlocks. You lose at least a third of the length when making dreadlocks. But that depends a lot on how your hair structure is and how much volume you have. In any case, you should be aware that your dreadlocks will be shorter than your hair was before.
