On all heads live little animals.
Of course, in the dreadlocks live little animals. But even in normal, finely washed hair live small animals, for example mites at the hair roots. There’s nothing you can do about it. That’s a good answer if you ever get asked. People then always make such a disgusted face.
Basically, life needs moisture. And I think that in the dreadlocks, except at the roots, is rather dry. Because if they were always wet, the dreads begin to mold.
