Our technique<\/h2>\n

Nach dem Abteilen der Dreadlocksans\u00e4tze werden die Haare\u00a0mit den Fingern gezwirbelt zu einer Str\u00e4hne, verdreht und auseinander gezogen, so dass sich die Haare zur Kopfhaut hin verknoten. Dies wird nur ein paar Mal wiederholt, bis wir unseren “Rohbau” mit einer 1 mm oder 1.25 mm Nadel durchh\u00e4keln.\u2028 Dabei durchstechen wir die Haarstr\u00e4hne \u00e4hnlich wie bei einer N\u00e4hmaschine und verteilen die Stiche m\u00f6glichst regelm\u00e4ssig, damit das Dread gleichm\u00e4ssig fest und rund wird. Wir erstellen den Rohbau als eine Art Grundger\u00fcst, an dem sich die H\u00e4rchen festhalten und mit etwas Zeit festfilzen k\u00f6nnen. Nach dem Rohbau werden wir das Dread ein zweites Mal durchh\u00e4keln und damit die Festigkeit auf ein Niveau bringen, an dem das Dread nicht wieder aufgehen kann. Dazu verwenden wir eine 0.6 mm bis 0.75 mm Nadel. Die Einstichl\u00f6cher der Nadel sind bei dieser Gr\u00f6sse kaum mehr sichtbar und das Dread wird gleichm\u00e4ssig kompakt, vom Ansatz bis zu der Spitze.<\/p>\n

Life cycle of dreads<\/h2>\n

  1. As soon as we are done with your dreadlocks (baby locks)<\/strong> they will be compact<\/strong> and won\u2019t pop open anymore, when cared for properly. During the first few weeks they may protrude from your head, depending on their lengths.<\/li>\n
  2. After that you will enter the critical phase (puberty):<\/strong> Your dreadlock can start fuzzing<\/strong> and you need to work with the crochet hook on every single dreadlock during that time. After that they will be even more compact. In case you are having trouble with your hair during this time, you are more than welcome to stop by or ask a friend for help.<\/li>\n
  3. Goal (adult dreads):<\/strong> Your dreads are compact, dense, and only need to be re-crocheted at the roots occasionally.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
